FPT CORP. AND CMC CORP. CONFIRMED BY MICROSOFT AS LARGE ACCOUNT RESELLERS (LARs) FOR GOVERNMENT OF VIETNAM ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT

Status as LARs enables companies to offer the best possible value and supporting services as genuine software is rolled out across central and rural government desktops

Washington DC, USA, 21 June, 2007: – FPT Corp. (FPT) and CMC Corp. (CMC), two leading Vietnamese ICT companies, have been confirmed by Microsoft as Large Account Resellers (LARs) to support the Government of Vietnam as it deploys genuine copies of Microsoft Office System across rural and government desktops. The confirmation of CMC Corp and FPT Corp as LARs follows closely on from the Enterprise Agreement (EA) which was signed between Microsoft and the Government of Vietnam on May 21st and witnessed by the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer - on the occasion of the latter’s first trip to Vietnam.

FPT’s and CMC’s LAR status enables them to directly order and sell Microsoft Select and Enterprise Agreements (EA), offering the best possible value to Vietnamese enterprise organizations. Both companies are committed to working with Microsoft to intensify the use of genuine licensed software in Vietnamese businesses and enterprises. As members of the top tier of Microsoft Software Providers globally – the organizations will work closely with Microsoft to deliver Microsoft programs and services, and will receive strategic support and training– to enable them to provide added value and benefits to customers in Vietnam.
An Enterprise Agreement is Microsoft's volume licensing solution for medium- to large-sized organizations that have made a three-year commitment to a core set of Microsoft technologies. Select is Microsoft's volume licensing program for medium to large businesses who receive a discount today based on future purchases of Microsoft products.
