SINGAPOREAN SOFTWARE AND SERVICES COMPANY LAUNCHED BY VIETNAMESE SOFTWARE LEADER – FPT SOFTWARE JOINT STOCK COMPANY

A nearly 2000 staff software vendor pledges to attach itself to Asia Pacific market in long term.

Singapore 13 March, 2007: Hanoi-based FPT Software Joint Stock Company today celebrated the formal launch of FPT Software Asia Pacific Pte.Ltd. in Singapore. The newly established company, owned 100% by FPT Software Company (a subsidiary of FPT Corporation), aims to meet the demand of IT vendors and end-user companies in all Asia Pacific countries for software development and consultancy services.

The event was well-attended by many distinguished guests including Ms. THAM Ai Chyn – Assistant Chief Executive – iDA Singapore, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong - Deputy Minister of Post and Telematics, Vietnam, Mr. Duong Van Quang - Vietnam’s Ambassador to Singapore, and other representatives from iDA, EDB, IBM in Singapore, Microsoft Asia Pacific, Dell Singapore,etc.

FPT Software Asia Pacific, which is managed by Hoang Viet Anh (Director), is in charge of signing software orders from around the APAC region to outsource to the parent company which owns nearly 2000 staff in 3 main development centers in Vietnam. Nguyen Thanh Nam, CEO and Managing Director of FPT Software, said: “As clients from Asia Pacific occupied as much as one fourths of our revenue last year, we see this market worth investing further besides Japan, UK and USA. In short term, we are focusing on building strategic relationship with big names in the region, and accompany them to get large-sized contracts.”

The establishment of the Singaporean company has been well supported by the Vietnamese government, especially in terms of registration procedure. “The presence of FPT Software in Singapore is an important milestone of Vietnam in doing business in Singapore and the region. Asia Pacific is considered the most potential market for Vietnam’s software and services outsourcing activities.” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Deputy Minister of Post and Telematics.
