FPT University, the first corporate-owned university in Vietnam, is determined to develop a large pool of IT engineers with internationally recognized qualifications. The 1st batch, which started in January 2007, received 300 students.   OUTSTANDING PROJECTS COMPLETED IN APRIL 07

Six projects were completed in April 2007 with excellent results, as measured and reported by our Quality Assurance Department. These projects exceeded FPT Software’s norms for each of its six metrics, as follows: Requirement Completeness (95%); Acceptance Rate (95%); Timeliness (85%); Customer Satisfaction (87 points; Average Leakage (0.2%); and Correction Costs (7%).

For example, FPT Software successfully migrated a sales management system from UNIX to Windows Server. This was highly appreciated by our Japanese customer, due to the team’s ability to solve problems and project communication. In developing the project, work products, particularly designs and codes were extensively reviewed, and carefully confirmed with the customer prior to delivery. Testers hardly detected any defects during the Integration Tests and, in addition, bugs during the System Test were carefully fixed before the system was transferred to the live environment.

FPT Software and its partner Harvey Nash have teamed up with Microsoft to lead an official visit of representatives from the UK Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner community to Vietnam (22 May 2007). The meeting with the delegation, which was supported by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and chaired by Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft Corporation, aims to highlight the region’s emerging status as a destination for offshore and outsourced services.

  FPT SETS UP BROKERAGE

The State Securities Commission recently approved the establishment of the FPT Securities Joint Stock Co (FPT Securities) with a chartered capital of VND 200 billion (approximately US$ 12.5 million).
