Can you outline the training curriculum for resources on your software projects?

Answer

We organize the following training courses:

  • Developer module: process, coding, unit tests

  • Tester module: process, technique and tools, defect prevention

  • PM module: quantitative management, tools

  • Project-specific training     

  • Standard and refreshment technology courses (internal and external)

  • Foreign Languages: Japanese; English (TOEFL training)

  •  Professional tests and certificates  (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, Japanese standards for IT engineers, etc.)

FAQ Will my development team be able to communicate effectively with FPT Software's team?
Answer
FPT Software maintains technical liaison staff in several countries worldwide. FPT Software staff will work on-site with you at the beginning of your project to ensure a thorough understanding of your requirements and technical specifications (FPT Software staff may even help you author the specifications). You can keep an FPT Software staff member on-site with you on an on-going basis if you prefer. Another option is to send one of your project managers/engineers to work on-site with your OSDC team in Vietnam.

FAQ How would you describe the English skills of FPT Software staff?
Answer

In a word - “excellent”. English is the most widely-used language at FPT Software. All FPT Software staff must demonstrate English fluency prior to being hired. Once hired, they are required to take the TOEFL test every three months with all test scores stored and tracked in a database. In addition, the company provides its staff with a number of English training courses as well as an English club to encourage English communication within the company. Furthermore, many FPT Software project managers/leaders and software engineers have completed their advanced degrees in English-speaking countries.

FAQ Are all internal communications conducted in English?
Answer

- Internal communication: Communications in English via email among staff
- External communication: Communications between FPT Software staff and customers are conducted in English, French, or Japanese. This includes all project documentation, e-mails, phone conversations, and Net meetings

FAQ How about your Japanese capability?
Answer

Out of 1,200 FPT staff members who can speak Japanese, the current number who have 1 kyu, 2 kyu, and 3 kyu certificates accounts for  9%, 20% and 71% respectively. We have a Japanese Quality Assurance Department who are in charge of Japanese documents. In addition, we are establishing teams of developers and testers who communicate with customers in Japanese. In order to develop the staff’s Japanese capability, our company offers many Japanese training courses as well as seminars on Japanese culture.
