We recognise  the importance of intellectual property in maintaining a competitive advantage and of excluding others from using your asset. All our employees are committed to protecting the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of our clients and partners as stated in the contract agreements and associated official documents.

FPT Software is one of the first companies in Vietnam that recognizes the critical nature of IP Protection and takes action on this matter We have a well-articulated Intellectual Property Policy in place, which covers IP acquisition, exploitation, distribution, monitoring and enforcement. This Policy Statement answers fundamental questions about intellectual property, such as what is it? To whom does this Policy apply? What are employees' obligations with regards to safeguarding the IPR of both the company and its clients? How does ownership of copyrighted materials works? What is fair use and when and how to get permission to use someone else's materials? The policy pinpoints the responsibility of each development group in ensuring the appropriate use of computer software and other copyrighted materials.

It's FPT Software's policy to develop an IP Protection Manual and training courses to ensure the implementation of IP Policy. The IP Manual elaborates the IP Policy in a practical way, paying special attention to the particulars of offshore software development and clients' IP Protection. 

To ensure the proper enforcement of the IP Policy, FPT Software has regular training programs on IP for its employees, which are conducted by IP experts. The purposes of these IP courses are to familiarize employees with the concept of intellectual property, to update them on new IP legislation, and to inform them of their obligations with respect to the use of copyrighted and licensed materials. Emphasis is placed on protecting IPR of our clients and partners. These workshops are followed by pilot tests, and rigorous administration and monitoring to ensure the enforcement of IP Policy. All  our employees are also required to sign an IP Protection Agreement as part of the Employment Contract.
